Why We Invested in Jusfy

MAYA Capital

--

MAYA Capital led Jusfy’s pre-Series A round, backing its mission to revolutionize the Brazilian legal industry. Beyond being the ultimate legal operating system for lawyers, the startup has a bold vision of becoming the one-stop-shop for legal professionals by offering them operation, execution and financial products.

The problem in a nutshell:

Brazil has the highest concentration of lawyers in the world: one for every 150 Brazilians vs. one for every 260 Americans. The market is also expanding rapidly — in the last 15 years, the number of lawyers in Brazil has almost doubled, reaching 1.5 million lawyers.

Still, the profession remains highly bureaucratic, inefficient, and low-tech. In such archaic systems, lawyers face numerous manual and complex processes, which are prone to human error and impact their productivity. Consequently, the judicial system is expensive and overloaded: (i) Brazil spends 1.6% of its GDP on courts — 1.2% above the global average, including advanced and emerging economies; (ii) 80 million claims are currently active.

An all-in-one solution:

Jusfy is revolutionizing the legal profession by providing an all-in-one solution for Brazilian lawyers. It operates as a comprehensive co-pilot, integrating all the necessary tools to enhance productivity across every aspect of legal work.

In a nutshell, the company: (i) frees lawyers from time-consuming and burdensome operational tasks through tools that enable monitoring of court cases, strategic case information research, legal calculations, legal document templates, among others; (ii) assists lawyers in expanding their client base with lead generation via JusMatch; and (iii) will soon offer financial management solutions for its users.

Launched in 2022, Jusfy has been growing at an impressive pace, serving around 30 thousand customers and aiming to more than double in size in 2025.

An extraordinary team:

Rafael Bagolin, the CEO and visionary behind Jusfy, ran his own law firm in Rio Grande do Sul for over a decade, experiencing firsthand the urgency of solving the challenges Jusfy is tackling. As his former colleagues describe him: “he is pure intelligence; practicing law is far too simple a task for him.”

Leading the charge alongside Rafael are Renato Moreira and Juliano Lima. Renato was Hotmart’s ninth hire and has extensive experience building successful SaaS businesses from scratch. Juliano, a self-taught prodigy, started working at 14 and became a partner in a tech company at 19. With their growth-oriented mindset, they will take Jusfy to the next level.

Jusfy’s founding team is truly exceptional — they dream big and execute relentlessly. There’s no doubt they are the ones who will transform the Brazilian legal system.
